Privacy Policy

Roam Passport is built to keep your adventures yours. We don't collect, sell or share your personal data, and we don't run servers that store it. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

What stays on your iPhone

Your stamps, hikes, walks, saved trips, reviews, trail photos and profile details (name, home pin, emergency contact) are stored on your device. They're included in your iPhone backup.

iCloud

To keep your passport when you get a new phone, the app saves a copy of your stamps, hikes, walks, trips and profile to your own iCloud account using Apple's iCloud key-value storage. Only you can access it; we can't see it. Trail photos are not uploaded to iCloud by the app. You can turn this off in iPhone Settings › your name › iCloud.

Location

The app uses your location only while you record a hike or walk (or when you tap to set a home pin or find nearby parks), to measure distance and to stamp the park or monument you're in. Location is processed on your device and never sent to us.

Apple Health

If you allow it, the app writes the hikes and walks you record to Apple Health, and reads your Hiking and Walking workouts and routes when you tap Import, so it can stamp parks you've already visited. Health data stays on your device, is never sent to us or to anyone else, and is never used for advertising.

Photos and camera

When you add a trail photo or make a stamp card, you choose the photo. It stays on your device unless you share it yourself.

Purchases

Roam Passport Pro is sold through Apple. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details. The app checks your purchase with Apple on your device.

Maps and links

Maps are provided by Apple Maps. Directions and booking links open Apple Maps, recreation.gov or other websites, which have their own privacy policies. Park photos are loaded from Wikimedia Commons and the National Park Service.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect anyone's personal information.

Deleting your data

Delete the app to remove its data from your iPhone. To remove the iCloud copy, go to iPhone Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage. You can also export your passport anytime in Settings.
